Student accommodation - Dornoch
A purpose-built student residence is available in Dornoch offering 40 en-suite bedrooms with shared kitchen and living areas. The accommodation is professionally managed by Cityheart Living (Scotland) Ltd, who can answer any questions you may have about the facilities.
A single en-suite bedroom with shared kitchen and living area is £135.88 per week and a studio en-suite bedroom with cooking facilities is £173.93 per week. The rent includes Wi-Fi, heating, electricity and cycle storage. Laundry services are also available at the residence. There is a support system in place for students adapting to university life.
The residence application process is managed by and the student leases will be with Cityheart Living (Scotland) Ltd. Applications are now being taken.
Private accommodation - Thurso Campus
We can provide you with an Thurso accommodation list 2018-19 as a guide to help you find a place to stay. Quite often the rooms available are with families in the local area (with breakfast and evening meal provided), so in a sense, this is a home away from home.*

You need budget carefully. Often students get into difficulties when budgeting on a small income. Pay your lodgings first or at least keep the money by and you won’t have to worry about it. The Student Support Section can help with financial advice but don’t let a little problem escalate into a big one.
Flats and houses
Occasionally private landlords will let a property to students and this can be made more affordable if students are willing to share. This type of accommodation comes on the market only rarely, and it would not be advisable to rely on this coming up at exactly the right time for you. Properties are often heard about by word of mouth and you need to keep your ear to the ground to find out about them. It is worth checking the local newspapers and the internet regularly.
