North Highland College is looking for an enthusiastic, caring individual to assist students who have learning difficulties or impairments within our mainstream courses. The position is based at our main Thurso campus. You will support student learning and will help them to overcome the barriers created by their disability. Disabilities can include but are not limited to dyslexia, a physical disability or other specific learning disability.
You must have the ability to handle student expectations politely, professionally and empathetically and be able to demonstrate good communication skills. Duties will include software training, scribing, reading, proof reading and assisting students in organising and prioritising course work. You will need to be computer literate, car owner and in possession of a clean, current driving licence.
