North Highland College is looking for an enthusiastic, caring individual to support students studying from access to degree level within our mainstream courses, who have learning difficulties or impairments. The position is based at Nigg Skills Academy. You will support student learning and will help them to overcome the barriers created by their disability. Disabilities can include but are not limited to dyslexia, a physical disability or other specific learning disability.
You must have the ability to handle student expectations politely, professionally and empathetically and be able to demonstrate good communication skills. Duties will include software training, scribing, reading, proof reading and assisting students in organising and prioritising course work as well as the provision of pastoral care and identifying strategies where there are behavioural issues.
This is a part-time position until August 2021, working 6 hours per week.
