Life and Work Skills students presented with certificate of achievement

Students on the Life and Work Skills Programme at UHI North Highland were recently presented with a certificate of achievement for this academic year from curriculum lead, Jane MacIntosh.

She said “We were delighted to welcome students back to the Life and Work Skills Programme and onto campus this year following the covid pandemic. It was a pleasure to hand out certificates to these learners who have achieved and developed themselves so much through attending this college course. We look forward to working with them again next academic year as they continue their student journey”.

Learners this year have focused on maths, English, and communication skills as well as individual and community projects. The group recently visited the community garden in Thurso as part of a topic on climate change, where they learned about growing food, helped with planting, and tried some of the produce.

The course is designed for anyone working at SCQF L3 or below and has an overall aim of supporting and encouraging individuals to further develop skills both academically and socially.

Places are still available for September 2022, find out more about the course here or contact our admissions team by emailing nhcinfo@uhi.ac.uk.
