Hairdressing SVQ3

What is special about this course?

This full or part time course is for hairdressers with salon experience. In addition to learning the theoretical aspects of hairdressing, you will also be able to gain invaluable practical experience by being a part of the commercial training salon based in House of Morven on the main campus. The SVQ level 3 Hairdressing covers units which are essential to become a full stylist.

Entry requirements

The subjects studied are those essential to a full stylist, including:

  • Fashion cutting and colouring
  • Styling techniques including creatively dressing long hair, and avant garde styles
  • Salon management skills
  • Promotion of services and products
  • Health and safety
  • Students are required to attend a salon placement on a weekly basis

  • Full Time
  • Part Time
  • Day release

Attendance for the full time course is over one academic session, if attending on a day release basis this will take two academic years.
