SVQ Youth Work (Modern Apprenticeship) SCQF Level 7

What is special about this course?

Youth Workers plan, organise and oversee community programmes aimed at young people.  Youth Workers work directly with children and young people, helping them to build life skills, develop healthy relationships and support them to make decisions that are right for them.

This Modern Apprenticeship initiative offers people the chance to work towards achieving an SVQ in Youth Work at SCQF 6. The programme is a combination of work-based and college training and provides the dual benefit of students gaining a nationally recognised qualification while being paid as they work.

This Modern Apprenticeship consists of an SVQ and Core Skills.

Apprentice Benefits:

  • Debt free learning
  • Nationally recognised qualifications
  • Career progression opportunities

Employer Benefits:

  • Cost effective training supported by funding from Skills Development Scotland (up to 100% funding depending on age and eligibility criteria)
  • Develop up to date and relevant skills and qualifications

Entry requirements

Candidates should be working within a youth setting at a supervisory/managerial level for a minimum of 3 months.

Candidates should also hold the SVQ 2 in Youth Work.
