Accounting Foundation Certificate SCQF Level 5

What is special about this course?

This new accounting course has been designed with a professional accounting body and local employers to offer an introduction into the key accounting principles. You will learn and develop your skills to effectively use software and understand costings relevant to today’s accounting industry. On completion, you can progress to the Advanced Diploma in Accounting in semester 2. 

Entry requirements

  • English at National Level 5
  • Maths at National Level 4
  • Strong interest in Accounting and Finance

Potential applicants unable to produce evidence of these qualifications will be asked to undertake a skills profile test.

This 18-week course is delivered on a flexi/online basis with tutor support. In order to achieve the qualification, you must complete five professional accounting units:

  • Book-Keeping Transactions 
  • Book-Keeping Controls 
  • Elements of Costing 
  • Using Accounting Software 
  • Working Effectively in Finance 

This qualification is linked to the National Occupational Standards.
