What is special about this course?

The PDA in Internal Verification of Workplace Assessment will develop your knowledge and skills in monitoring assessment processes and decisions within your organisation.  The internal quality assurance process being conducted can be for SVQs, work based qualifications or in-company standards.

Entry requirements

  • Students must be a workplace assessor, currently working with at least two VQ candidates.

Year 1 - PDA

This award is divided into the following four elements, you will write a report for each element:

  • Prepare to carry out the internal quality assurance
  • Plan internal quality assurance
  • Carry out planned monitoring of the quality of assessment
  • Meet appropriate external quality assurance requirements

How will I study my course?

Additional information for course delivery in 2021-22

This course is work-based and therefore will have limited changes to the delivery for 2021-22. You will work with your assessor to develop your e-portfolio. You will also have a face to face or online induction at the start of the course. The required work-based observations by your assessor will be conducted when it is possible and safe to do so, following Scottish Government guidance, including social distancing, most likely towards the end of the course. It will be possible to extend the length of the course to accommodate this element. Our priority is to provide a safe learning environment for all students and staff.
  • You will study through supported online learning using the university's virtual learning environment (VLE)
  • Part-time (structured): work-based
  • The PDA is work-based. You will be assessed in the workplace.
