What is special about this course?
Develop your equestrian skills and riding ability with this practical course based at our state-of-the-art Rural Studies Centre at Halkirk in intensive blocks. You will engage in classroom learning for theory-based subjects through blended learning and have opportunities to develop your practical skills in the yard, indoor and outdoor arenas using a range of quality horses.
Entry requirements

A keen interest in equestrianism and preferably some equestrian experience

Satisfactory interview
- Evidence of communication/literacy, IT and numeracy skills and/or qualifications at SCQF level 4
- Horse Care - Grooming
- Safe Horse Handling
- Horse Care - Feeding and watering
- Preparation for riding activities
- Stable routine
- Fitness
- Transportation
- Opportunity to prepare for British Horse Society Examinations
You will also study a variety of other relevant topics and develop your personal and employability skills.
